ABOUT NICKY DUBS

Nicky Dubs is an electronic musician from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada who loves to explore tasty blends of acoustic drums with psychedelic bass music.   As a drummer turned bass-head with 32+ years of musical experience, he also has the voice of an angel, a trademark vocoder style and masterful loopstation skills which make him one of the most amazing and memorable acts to witness. He is also a multi-genre producer, beatboxer and songwriting arrangement specialist but more simply: just a guy on his own humble lifelong musical journey.

Best known for his versatility as a musician, he is the perfect fit on any bill with his fluid ability to navigate the vibe across a wide spectrum of feels & flavours.  He always keeps the dancefloor smiling while keeping it risky, live & juicy enough for the more purist.

Since an early age he was musically inclined and always had a knack for live performance.  Playing in bands since 1996, he has played with Strange Planes, Duophonics, Thug Shells, Poppa Squats, Landon Bushell, Tiger Coffee, Ann Vriend and Goddessa for whom he was the one-man backup band.  Every year since 2018 he has played at numerous prestigious events and is a staple at some of Western Canada's greatest music festivals.  (Astral Harvest, Vibes, InterSECT, Odyssey Gathering, Reign Bough Fiddle, Jamtron and Heart of the City). He has also opened for some of his heroes including Dub FX, Benny Page & Ed Solo.

Moving into 2023 his main focus is to share the good vibes on the street and on stage.  You will see him either with a drumkit & subwoofer, a compact looping rig or both!  Currently trying to save up to go busking in the caribbean next winter, every donation helps a lot so thank you so much for those!!
